What inspired you to become a psychiatric nurse practitioner?

While working as a psychiatric nurse in the community, I recognized the need for higher levels of quality care and I felt an eagerness to enhance my clinical responsibilities to provide such services. I was inspired to become a psychiatric nurse practitioner in order to build more meaningful clinical relationships with clients and to be a positive catalyst in
one’s life.

What hobbies or activities do you enjoy outside of work?
I enjoy spending time with my husband and family, learning new recipes to cook and gardening. In the fall we enjoy hosting friends and family for NFL football - go Giants! I also love to spend any free time I have by the ocean.

Do you have any pets? If so, what are their names and what kind are they?
We have one domestic shorthair cat who is a rescue - his name is Aspen. He is a lover and has a big personality. He is spoiled and so very loved. Best $20 ever spent.

What was your favorite book or TV show as a child, and why?
I enjoyed the book series, Junie B. Jones, as a child. I was captured by her adventures and character; she was unique and unapologetically herself.

If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?
My superpower would be to fly so that I could travel the world effortlessly and beat rush-hour traffic.

What is one thing people might be surprised to learn about you?
Growing up, I always had a passion for outdoor adventures—dirt bikes, go-karts, snowmobiles, and ATVs. Pretty much anything with wheels and speed, I was riding it. As a kid, I dreamed of becoming a professional motocross rider. Spoiler alert: that didn't happen. However, I still have a love for recreational vehicles and hope to start my own collection soon!
